Starting Primary School in 2017?

Children born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013 are due to start primary school in September 2017.

If you are currently making an application, or know someone who is, we are holding an Open Day today! Visitors will be given a tour of the classrooms, buildings and outdoor learning environments, as well as having the opportunity to meet staff and ask any questions.

Pre-school children are welcome to attend with their parents. No appointment is necessary. Our Open Day is on Tuesday 22nd November 2016 at either 10am or 5pm. We previously advertised the open event for Tuesday 15th November, but due to scheduling conflicts have had to postpone the event and have rearranged it for Tuesday 22nd November.

All parents of children born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013 should have received a letter in the post from the Local Authority encouraging them to apply for a school place. The application cycle is now open, and all applications must be submitted to the Local Authority by 15th January 2017. If you have not received this letter, please contact the Admissions Team on 01706 925982.

* we will post a message here on our News Desk blog page

* we will tweet it from the main school Twitter account @Lowerplace_PS

* it will be listed on the council’s school closures website here: Rochdale Council Snow

* we will let local radio stations know, who will list it on their own websites and may announce it on-air.

Thank you!

Gas Main Replacement at the Charter Street entrance

roadworks-sign

We arrived this morning to a bit of surprise – National Grid had started their important gas mains replacement works on Charter Street, but hadn’t let us know that they’d be starting this weekend!

It was a little bit busy this the morning as we could not use the gate at the Charter Street end of school, the pathway area had been dug up making it inaccessible. National Grid anticipate that the works will be completed by Thursday 17th November so we hope the disruption will be kept to a minimum. They have repaved our path this morning so the Charter Street gate should be available for use at hometime today (Monday 14th November 2016).

If the barriers do block the gate and or path, please use the main gates on Kingsway to access the school site. This will ensure that we can keep everyone safe on the way into and out of school. We apologise for the inconvenience these works are causing.
