Santa Claus is coming to town!

Look who’s arrived at Lowerplace just in time for the Christmas parties this afternoon?

Santa visits Key Stage 1

Yup, Father Christmas is here! Yaaaay! Luckily everyone has been good this year, so nobody is on the Naughty List!

Merry Christmas!

“Phyllis the Amaryllis” has been keeping us company in the Infant Office since the beginning of December; she was just a bulb and a single shoot when she arrived and we weren’t sure if we’d see any flowers before we broke up for the Christmas holidays. We were delighted when we arrived this morning to see two lovely big red blooms, just in time!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and safe, happy and prosperous New Year. See you next year!

Thank you for your support at the Winter Fair!

We wanted to extend our thanks to the Lowerplace Parents Forum and Lowerplace Staff for all their hard work to make the Winter Fair the incredible success it was, and to all our pupils and parents who came along and had a blast!

We’re proud to announce that this year, we’ve raised more than ever before, an incredible:

Winter Fair 2015 total

It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the whole Lowerplace family – THANK YOU!

Friday 18th December – Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day!

We’re excited for this Friday – not just because it’s the last day of term, but also because it’s Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day!

We love any excuse to dress up at Lowerplace, so we’re asking everyone to contribute £1 to the Text Santa campaign, which this year is supporting Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK and Save The Children, and to come to school in something festive.

Don’t worry if you don’t already have a Christmas jumper – your sparkliest party clothes (or even your non-sparkly party clothes!) will look just as good!

We’ll also be selling raffle tickets all this week for the chance to win Cadbury’s selection boxes – there are two prizes per class, so the odds are pretty good. Raffle tickets will be on sale in classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, for 20p each or 5 for £1.

Please send the money in to your child’s class teacher with your child, NOT to the office.

After-School Clubs for Spring 1 2016

Our After-School Clubs are ending before Christmas.

We will instead be offering the following after school activities which will start week commencing Monday 11th January 2016. The clubs will run until half term.

Please check your child’s book bag tonight for the consent form. If you would like your child to take part in one or more of the groups on offer, please fill in the form and return it to school by Monday 14th December 2015.

Places are limited so will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

ASC Spring 1 2016

It’s our Winter Fair on Friday 11th December!

Dear Parents and Carers

It’s our annual Winter Fair on Friday 11th December!

This is always a very popular event and we hope that you’ll help us make it a success again this year!

Please see below for the timetable of when children will be attending the Fair. You are welcome to join them, either during the day or after school.

Please send some money into school with your child, as they may wish to buy something or play the games (games cost 30p each).

If you have not yet paid your child’s £2 for their visit to Santa, please remember to send that into school as well!

Thank you

We are having a school disco on Thursday 3rd December. There will be a tuck shop, with items sold from 30p. The times are 4:30-5:30 for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1), and 5:45-6:45 for Years 3 – 6 (Key Stage 2). The disco will be in the junior hall. Entry fee is £1.

Please pick your child up promptly when their disco ends.

If your child has an After-School Club and they want to come to the Disco afterwards they will be supervised in school after their club finishes at 4:15pm until the Christmas Disco begins. Please send a change of clothes, money for the disco, and a packed tea if they need something to eat.

Kind Regards, Lowerplace School Council
