‘Tis the season – for your child’s flu vaccine

The School Health Team visited Lowerplace this morning to administer the nasal spray flu vaccine to those children whose parents had given permission. They’ll be returning home today with a certificate to say they’ve had it.

The vaccine is recommended for all children aged two to four, as well as children in Year 1 and 2 of primary school. If your child didn’t have the vaccine in school, please speak to your pharmacist or GP to arrange their vaccination.

You can find more information about the children’s flu vaccine at the NHS website here.

2015 Winter Fair logo

We’re preparing to have our annual Winter Fair on Friday 11th December. This is always a very popular event and we hope that you’ll help us make it a success again this year!

We’ll be having a series of non-uniform days every Friday and would appreciate the donation of items for our stalls. Please see the dates below:

For our Non-Uniform Day on Friday 27th November, we would welcome any donations of bric-a-brac for our stalls, for example new or used toys, unwanted jewellery or gifts, books, games, DVDs, and CDs which are in good condition.

For our Non-Uniform Day on Friday 4th December – please bring an item for us to sell on our Rainbow Stall at the Winter Fair! Each Year group has a particular colour to bring (please note, your child does not have to wear this colour!):

Reception – Red
Year 1 – Yellow
Year 2 – Pink
Year 3 – Green
Year 4 – Orange
Year 5 – Purple
Year 6 – Blue

Please don’t send things like biscuits, pasta, ketchup, and fresh fruit as these items don’t store well and can be easily damaged.

If you’ve returned your slip for your child to visit Santa, please also hand in your £2 payment if you haven’t already done so, either to their class teacher or the office.

Thank you,
