Year 3 residential trip to Castleton

Unfortunately the internet connection is not working at Castleton, Peak District so we send out apologies to all parents for not keeping you as up to date with information as we had originally planned.

All the children are fine and had a good night’s sleep and are ready for an exciting day today.

Yesterday the children made casts of fossils, took part in a Roman Battle and had a go at Archery.

We’re having lots of fun and will see you all at home time today.

You’ll be able to see some pictures of our adventures after we return (and have better internet access!)

Never a dull moment!

We get lots of deliveries in the school offices, but this is the first time I’ve seen a box of live caterpillars arriving!

I wonder what Year 2 are planning?

Dinner money

Dinner money is £9.50 per child, per week, and is payable every Monday morning to your child’s class teacher. Pink “dinner money” envelopes are available from both school offices if needed.

If dinner money payments fall more than two weeks in arrears, the service will be withdrawn and you will need to make alternative meal arrangements.

Please can all dinner money arrears be paid in full as soon as possible. If you have a question about your child’s dinner money account, please visit or telephone the Key Stage 2 (Junior) office.

Thank you!

New Reception Parents Evening

welcome mat

We’re looking forward to meeting the parents of the new Reception pupils who’ll be starting in September!

Our Parents Evening for the September Reception Intake will be on Thursday, 19th June from 5:15pm to 6:30pm in the Key Stage 2 Hall, Kingsway building.

Parents will be able to meet the Reception staff and the school’s Senior Leadership Team, have a look around the school, and get all the information they need to help their child settle into school in September.

Parents will also be able to meet representatives from our partners – School Health, FAST, PFM Catering Services, Parent Partnership, Breakfast Club, the Inclusion Team, Family Learning Service, Topform, and Moses Schoolwear. The school kitchen will be providing some samples of the delicious meals which they serve to the children every day.

Basketball Club

Last night was the finale of the basket ball – we played 4 matches and we won all 4!

First we played Spotland and the score was 8-2, Christian scored 3 and Mohsin scored 1. Against Bellfield the score was 10-2. Christian scored 4 and Mohsin scored 2.

We then played the schools again and the scores were:

2-0 against Spotland, Mohsin scored.

2-0 against Bellfield, Ethan scored.

Christian played outstandingly he was on fire, the team played well together and all of them were superb. We were runners up in the league. The children received a trophy and a certificate each. These will be presented in Assembly this Friday.
