Parent Workshop

Hi all,

Tomorrow we will be holding another of our popular Parent Workshops.

This time we will be focussing on SEN, we hope to give you any information you might need about the Special Educational Needs practices and processes in school. We will also be able to answer any questions you might have.

If you would like to come along, it will be held from 9.15-10.15am in the KS2 Hall.

We look forward to seeing you there.

World Book Day

world book day 2013
“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.”
Walt Disney

This year to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 7th March 2013 each year group has be assigned a literacy genre, in which children can come to school dressed as a character from a book from that particular genre.
The genres are;

Reception & Year 1 – Fairytales
Year 2 – Traditional Tales
Year 3 – Adventure
Year 4 – Science Fiction
Year 5 – Historical
Year 6 – Detective and Mystery

The best dressed character from each class will win a small prize.

Along with a letter which will be sent home with children tonight, each child will also receive a National book token to be redeemed against one of eight books. When they receive their token, all they need to do is to take it to a local bookshop and swap it for one of eight (exclusive, new and completely free) £1 World Book Day Books or use it as a £1 off coupon on any full price book.

We can’t wait to see what outfits you all come up with!

Holiday Club

kids club

Once again our children are invited to take part in the Holiday Club, run by our Hub of local Schools. Each school holiday, children from Lowerplace, Sandbrook, Sacred Heart, St Peters and St Mary’s come together to take part in this fantastic provision.

This half-term, the Club will be based at Sandbrook Primary School.

For just £7.50 your child can attend each day from 10am-3pm (alternatively you can just book the days you require for a daily fee of £1.50).

The children take part in some brilliant acitivies; face-painting, art & craft, lego and construction, Wii Sports, Dance Mats and more. Why not ask for an application form from either School Office as there are still places available, although they are limited to first come first served!
