School is OPEN

School is OPEN as normal today, Tuesday 22nd January.

Please be aware that Charter Street is very icy and we would not recommend parking on that street this morning.

Have a safe journey,

Have you built a Snow Man/Woman/Dog?

Hi all,

It would be really lovely to see some pictures of any Snow People or Creatures that you build at home while we have this amazing weather! Make the most of it!

If you are able to take a picture, why not see if your parents would like to send it to the school office at this address making sure they tell us who built it and what class you are in. I will then post them on here!

I know that Class Rc had some time outdoors this afternoon and boy were they busy! This is their Snow Man.

Have fun everyone!

Open As Normal

Hello all,

As you are aware from the text messaging service and the Rochdale Council website, school is open as normal.

Thank you to all the intrepid parents and children who ventured to school through the winter wonderland! We appreciate the effort you all made, as otherwise we would have been sat here twiddling our thumbs 🙂 School just isn’t the same without you all!

May we just point out that we will always use the text messaging system in good time, letting you know what is happening with lots of notice. Many service providers, i.e. Vodafone or Orange or any other company, are responsible for then getting the text message to you immediately. We have found that some parents are not receiving their message promptly, but we can assure you they are sent in plenty of time.

Stay safe!

Young Voices

Young Voices 2013

On Friday 18th January, 24 children from the School Choir will be taking part in the Young Voices at the MEN Arena.  Mrs Hussain and the children have been practising a long list of songs from Disco Fever to Let It Be twice a week since September and now with the concert getting closer they have been working extremely hard and practicing everyday!

The children sound amazing and  Mrs Hussain has promised to let the children sing in a school assembly next week so the whole school can hear how fabulous they are!

Mrs Hussain will be taking lots of pictures of the event and will be posting them on her Blog so keep checking the School Blog!

Snowy Days

Rochdale Town Hall in Snow

Rochdale Town Hall in Snow

We’ve seen some lovely flurries of snow over the weekend! Hopefully you have all had a chance to get out and make a snowball or two, perhaps not a snowman though as it does seem to be melting quite quickly.

On very rare occasions in the past, very adverse weather has meant we have had to close.

If this ever happened again, you would be notified by text message as early as possible on the day. Please always ensure you update us with new mobile telephone numbers if you change them! If you do not hear from us you should assume that school is open as normal.

We want to see every child dressed appropriately for the cold – scarves, hats, gloves, wellies (which they can change into a playtimes), warm coats. Wrap them up toasty & warm and write their name in everything!

Stay safe!
